When the elastic ring is rolled out on the limb in the direction towards heart, the limb will expand to some extent and thus the elastic ring will create a pull strength. On the contrary, the elastic ring will pressure the limb. The pressure then will be conducted to the blood vessel. When the elastic ring arrives at blood stopping area, its pressure on blood vessel wall is slightly higher than the arterial pressure.
